Ugandan commanders praised the operation of their men in the Somali capital Mogadishu |

Mogadishu (insidesomalia.org) The Ugandan armed forces in the Somali capital Mogadishu have this morning started carrying out operation in the city.
The infantry unit commander of the Ugandan armed forces Mr. Katumba Wamala said that his men have achieved several tangible developments since their arrival in the capital Mogadishu.
“it is absolutely false if anybody says Mogadishu is place where people cannot visit I am serving in the city, I myself have visited the city several other times before my official assignment, and it a place worth to be visited” said Mr. Wamala.
“Our task in Somalia is not a simple one, but with all efforts we are very much optimistic to achieve the fruits of our efforts” added Katuma the infantry commander of the Ugandan armed forces.
He said this statement while he was in a ceremony at Mupende a military location near the Ugandan capital Kampala.
The ceremony was for a company of the Ugandan armed forces who were back from the capital Mogadishu and have successfully completed their tour of duty in the in the city.
“The Ugandan forces are very friendly to the Somali people and to our point of view and we always monitor the situation of the country with extra precaution” said a sergeant who is back from the country.
Uganda was the first country to deploy forces in Somalia after the transition federal government was established in the Kenya capital Nairobi, and followed by the Burundian armed forces.
